MEET HAN LAM

Meet Han Lam, Project Manager at Clearspace.

From Auto Shops to Office Builds

Han has a background in Environmental Design from OCAD University and additional training in Architectural Technology from George Brown College. She explored several career directions before finding her passion for office design. Her first role as an automotive technician gave her hands-on problem-solving skills and taught her the value of structure and detail. Together, these experiences have shaped her into an adaptable and precise project manager.

While working in drafting, Han’s director noticed her knack for communication and coordination, encouraging her to move into project management. It was a role she hadn’t considered before, but one that clicked immediately. Being a project manager provided her with the balance she had been looking for all along: something that blends technical know-how with people-centered problem solving.

Finding the Right Fit

Han joined Clearspace as a Project Coordinator, drawn to the company’s integrated approach and collaborative team structure. At the time, few firms could deliver design, operations, and site execution all under one roof. She felt as though it was a rare opportunity to be part of a team that could follow a project from concept to completion. Back then, Clearspace was small, with just over 30 employees which Han particularly liked for the tight-knit community.

Her potential for growth was recognized early on. Within her first year, Han was promoted to Associate Project Manager, followed by another promotion to her current role as Project Manager. Over the past three years, Han has become known for remaining calm under pressure, her collaborative mindset, and her ability to guide teams through complex projects with confidence and clarity.

“Watching Han grow over the years has been a true pleasure. Her transfer from project coordinator to PM was graceful, and she’s built such strong relationships with both clients and vendors ever since. She’s hard-working, reliable, and is just so good at what she does.”

Hobbies and Passions

Outside of work, Han is an avid hiker and reader. She is always on the lookout for her next trail, with Golden Ears in British Columbia topping her list of favourites. Closer to home, she is a core member of Clearspace’s office book club, an initiative that started over a casual team dinner and quickly turned into a monthly tradition of wine, fiction, and great conversation.

Han has also stayed close with her former colleagues from the car shop, occasionally joining them for car meets and F1 races. These friendships reflect the same loyalty and team spirit Han brings to Clearspace every day.

What’s Next?

Looking ahead, Han sees exciting potential for Clearspace to broaden its project scope and take on more diverse, high-impact work. With a strong, tech-forward foundation and a collaborative team in place, she believes that Clearspace is well equipped to expand into new sectors such as hospitality and healthcare. Han is confident that as Clearspace continues to evolve, its integrated approach will position them for long-term success in a growing range of markets.

As Clearspace takes on bigger, complex projects, Han’s ability to navigate challenges, keep teams aligned, and uphold high standards will remain essential. Her contributions not only support project success; they help shape the kind of culture Clearspace is committed to - one grounded in collaboration, accountability, and continuous growth.
